QUEEN’S PARK – MPP Will Bouma recognized an upcoming event taking place in his riding of Brantford-Brant in the Ontario Legislature today, the 28th Annual Christmas in Paris in the town of Paris, Ontario.

“Christmas in Paris is a unique annual event held in the small community of Paris, in the County of Brant.  Over the course of the weekend, all manner of artisans, craftspeople and thousands of visitors gather together to sell their wares, celebrate the local culture and herald in the holiday season,” said Bouma.

The MPP went on to note how the event is just one example of the burgeoning art community in the County of Brant.

“You will find a large and varied assortment of artwork and crafts ranging from acrylic paintings to rustic décor and much more,” said Bouma. “Christmas in Paris is an excellent example of the vibrant and growing arts scene in the County of Brant.  Proceeds from the event’s admission will go to help support the arts and art education to encourage continuing artistic development in Paris.”

The annual event takes place this year from November 1 to November 3 and is put on by the Kindred Spirits Artisans of Paris.  The proceeds of this year’s Christmas in Paris will be used to support art education in the community by providing bursaries to high school graduates aspiring to obtain an art degree and by sponsoring awards for artists who exhibit at the Paris Fair.
