Ontario Recognizes Erika Polidori, Team Canada, Women’s Softball Bronze Medal Win

BRANTFORD — Today, all levels of government recognized Erika Polidori, a Brantford resident and member of Team Canada’s Women’s Softball team.  During an event at the Steve Brown Softball Red Diamond, Brantford-Brant MPP Will Bouma, his Worship Mayor Kevin Davis, City of Brantford and a member of Brantford-Brant MP Phil McColeman’s office presented Erika with certificates of congratulations for her role in helping Team Canada win a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

“I stand here today to publicly congratulate one of Brantford’s own, Erika Polidori, who was part of Team Canada’s Bronze Medal win in Women’s Softball at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics,” said Brantford-Brant MPP Will Bouma. “I congratulate Erika for her example, leadership and dedication to our community and country both on the diamond as well as on the frontlines as a health-care hero.”

“Congratulations to Erika and her Canadian Women’s Softball teammates on bringing home the Bronze medal,” said MP Phil McColeman. “We are Brantford Proud and Canada Proud!”

“Brantford is very proud of all our Team Canada athletes and I want to share a special congratulations to Erika Polidori and her Team Canada Softball teammates,” said Mayor Kevin Davis, The City of Brantford. “Erika has made the Brantford community and our country extremely proud. Watching Erika embody our community spirit along with her softball teammates on the international stage was incredible and we want to recognize her success, dedication to her sport and all her accomplishments along the way to this Olympic medal. Well done Erika!”

  • The Canadian women’s softball team made history by winning the country’s first medal in the sport by defeating Mexico 3-2 to capture bronze.
