Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs

TORONTO- MPP Bouma is pleased to announce today, that he is returning to the Premier’s office in his new role as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, as well as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Indigenous Affairs and Northern Development.

“By supporting ministers with legislative and committee responsibilities or taking on important projects with dedicated leadership, parliamentary assistants play a critical role in delivering on our plan to rebuild Ontario’s economy,” said Premier Ford. “With today’s announcement, I’m thrilled to recognize and showcase our team’s in-depth experience, which will help us continue to get it done for the people of Ontario.”

As the MPP for Brantford-Brant, Dr. Will Bouma represents the Six Nations of the Grand River – the most populous First Nations reserve in Canada as well as Missisauga of the Credit First Nation. Parliamentary Assistant (PA) Bouma is thankful for the incredible working relationship that he has with First Nations communities and looks forward to developing closer relationships with the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs and Northern Development. PA Bouma will always be a strong advocate in promoting collaboration and coordination across ministries on Indigenous policy and programs in partnership with Indigenous communities.

As Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, PA Bouma will provide strategic advice and analysis across various levels of government, international affairs, and protocol, as well as democratic institutions. He is eager to work to enhance collaboration and to advance Ontario’s intergovernmental priorities, while supporting the Premier in their collective priorities.

It is important to highlight the natural synergies between the Ministry of Intergovernmental Affairs and the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs and Northern Development. PA Bouma is excited to advance both portfolios and facilitate positive nation-to-nation relationships.
